  1. I have heard and read things from a lot of people claiming to be Atheist. But they all seem to spend their time attacking the Christian religion. So my question is. If they really are Atheist, why spend time and effort attacking something they don’t believe exist. IE God. Personally I don’t run around attacking peoples belief in vampires or werewolves. I may think they are nuts but I don’t waste my time.

  2. “Claiming” to be atheists? (p.s., it doesn’t get capitalized; it’s not a religion). I’m not claiming that I’m an atheist and an agnostic. I’m pretty sure.

It’s the whole enterprise of belief without sufficient evidence and reason that I think is irrational, dangerous, and above all, mockworthy.

Mocking isn’t attacking. If ridiculous people stop doing ridiculous things, I’ll stop mocking.

Tell ya what. When vampire believers start taking away people’s right to get married, I’ll mock them. And resist them. And if I move to a country where Buddhists are being control freaks who try to spread their ridiculous superstition everywhere, I’ll start mocking Buddhists too.

    Clear?

  3. How can you be pretty sure you are agnostic?

  4. Hi, Tim,

    *glomp*

I’m sure that gods aren’t the kinds of things that can be known about empirically or through pure reason. But if a reasonably sized sample of gods showed up under my Christmas tree and wanted to strut their stuff, I’d happily accept them as knowable.
