Sen. Clinton has called in her staff for a meeting tomorrow. It’s probably the end. Congratulations, Sen. Obama. Carry the flag forward, and the very best to you.

Some news from Alabama. Unless I’ve fallen asleep entirely, tomorrow is primary day here. Bud Cramer, our Congressman in Alabama’s 5th District, who’s carried water for the Republicans his entire career, is retiring. His legacy is thst nobody will cry. Republicans didn’t like him, and Democrats didn’t respect him. But he did get us some job in North Alabama. Running for his place on the Democratic side are a Bushbaby tool and a loon. I’m tempted to vote for the loon. In more heartening news, all the Democratic appellate court nominees will probably uphold the law instead of replacing our Constitution with Left Behind.
Potential Democratic challengers for U.S. Senate — this one is interesting — include a woman who might even win this Fall, a guy whose heart’s in the right place but probably doesn’t have two dimes to rub together for the general election, and another loon.

It may not be a nail biter in any of the elections, but we’ve got a chance.

  1. From the NYTimes:

“My political obituary has yet to be written, and we’re going forward,” Clinton said. “It is not over ’til it’s over.”

By most accounts, it is over.

  2. Speaking of loons, Monty Python did an hilarious bit about Election Night, where candidates either represented the Sensible Party, or the Silly Party. The Siily Party candidates succeeded in upset after upset, and their names got longer and more ridiculous as the skit ran on. I would highly recommend the following clip:

  3. Speaking of loons, I would heartily recommend the following Monty Python sketch, called “Election Night”:

  4. According to the NYTimes, the less educated you are, the more likely you are to vote Hillary instead of Obama.

Take that statistic however you like.

  5. I’m too afraid to hope. (My boyfriend Obama wouldn’t like that, would he?) Hoping anyway. Hoping against hope.

  6. Speaking of loons, there’s a wonderful Python skit about “Election Night,” where candidates from the Silly Party, with increasingly ridiculous names, consistently defeat their opponents from the Sensible Party.

Do a search on Youtube for “Monty Python Election” and you’ll find it.

  7. It defies imagination: the numbers are in, Obama has the delegates, and Hillary *still* won’t leave the race.

    The Republicans are partying tonight!
